Okay, so, “naked Hailey.” Sounds simple enough, right? Wrong! This whole thing turned into a bit of a saga, but I finally nailed it. Let me walk you through what I did.
First, I scoured the internet for reference pictures. I mean, really scoured. I needed to see every angle, every detail. I ended up with a massive folder of images – seriously, my desktop was a mess.
The Prep Work
Once I had my references, I started by sketching out some basic poses. Nothing fancy, just stick figures at first, to get the proportions right. Then, I slowly started adding more detail, fleshing out the figure, paying close attention to the anatomy.
- Initial sketches: Stick figures, basic shapes.
- Refining the pose: Adding muscles, curves, you know… the good stuff.
- Facial features: This was tough! Getting the likeness right took a few tries.
I must have erased and redrawn the same arm like, ten times. Seriously, getting the pose to look natural and not all stiff was a real pain.
The Digital Shift
After sketching phase done, I took a photo with a highest quality as I can with my phone. Then, I transfered the image into my pc. Then I opened photoshop and imported the image.
I then spent what felt like forever cleaning it and fixing any mistakes. This whole digital process is where things really started to take shape, but it was also the most time-consuming.
The Final Touches
Finally, after all the tweaking and adjusting, I added some shading. This is what really brought the whole thing to life. It was like, BAM! There she was.
I’m pretty stoked with how it turned out. It was definitely a challenge, but I learned a ton along the way. And hey, that’s what it’s all about, right? Practice, practice, practice!
