Okay, so, I’ve always been a huge Britney fan, and this year I thought, why not go all out and create my own Britney Spears costume? I mean, she’s got so many iconic looks, it was hard to choose just one! But I finally settled on her classic schoolgirl outfit from the “…Baby One More Time” music video. It’s just so instantly recognizable, you know?
First things first, I needed to find a white button-up shirt. I rummaged through my closet and found an old one. I tied it up in the front to make it look like Britney’s. Next up, the skirt. I didn’t have a gray pleated skirt, so I went online to look around. I found a pretty similar one after a bit of searching. I also grabbed some gray knee-high socks and black shoes while I was at it. I figured I could use those for other outfits later.

Now for the fun part – the hair! Britney’s pigtails in that video are legendary. I parted my hair down the middle and braided each side into pigtails. Then I added those fluffy pink hair ties to complete the look. I even spritzed on some hairspray to make sure it all stayed in place.
For makeup, I kept it pretty simple. Some pink eyeshadow and lip gloss did the trick. I mean, it’s supposed to be a schoolgirl look, right? I also practiced my best Britney dance moves in the mirror – gotta get those down!
Finally, I put the whole outfit together and… wow! I looked just like Britney! Okay, maybe not exactly, but it was close enough. I took some pictures and even made a little video of myself lip-syncing to “…Baby One More Time.” It was so much fun!
I am so happy to celebrate her 38th birthday!
Honestly, this was such a fun project. It brought back so many memories of listening to Britney’s music when I was younger. And it was cool to see how all the different pieces came together to create the final look. If you’re a Britney fan, I definitely recommend trying this out sometime. You won’t regret it!
