Okay, so I got REALLY into recreating Blake Lively’s looks, specifically her Lily van der Woodsen outfits from Gossip Girl. It was a whole thing, let me tell you!
Phase 1: The Deep Dive
First, I spent hours, and I mean hours, scrolling through Pinterest and old episodes of Gossip Girl. I needed to find those iconic Lily outfits. You know, the ones that scream “effortlessly chic Upper East Side mom”? Yeah, those.
Phase 2: The Hunt
Then came the hard part – actually finding similar pieces. This was like a treasure hunt, seriously. I hit up every online store I could think of, and even braved some actual, physical stores (which I haven’t done in ages!).
- Thrift stores were surprisingly useful.
- I also looked on sites that sell used designer clothes.
- Sometimes I found things pretty quickly, other items I still finding.
Phase 3: The Assembly
Once I had a decent collection, it was time to start putting the outfits together. This was the fun part! I tried on different combinations, swapping out blazers, adding scarves, playing with jewelry – the whole nine yards. It was like playing dress-up, but with a purpose.
Phase 4: The (Slightly Awkward) Photoshoot
Of course, I had to document my creations. I set up a makeshift “photo studio” in my living room (aka, I moved a lamp and stood in front of a blank wall). Taking the pictures was…interesting. Let’s just say I’m not a natural model.
Phase 5: The Final Look(s)
But hey, I did it! I managed to recreate a few of Lily’s signature looks. I think. I had some * wasn’t perfect, and my bank account is definitely feeling it, but it was a blast. Would I do it again? Maybe. Probably. Who am I kidding, I’m already planning my next fashion deep dive!
