Okay, so I saw these “Kendall Jenner bikini shots” trending, and I was like, “I gotta try and recreate some of these, just for fun.” I’m not a model, obviously, but it seemed like a cool little photography challenge.

Getting Started
First, I needed to find some reference photos. I just did a quick image search and grabbed a few that I thought I could sort of pull off. I wasn’t going for exact replicas, more like “inspired by.”
The Setup
- Location: I don’t have a yacht or a private beach, so my backyard had to do. I do have a small pool, so, hey, that’s something!
- Bikini: Thankfully, I already had a few that were kinda similar in style to some of Kendall’s. Nothing fancy, just some basic ones.
- Camera : I used my regular phone.
I set up a little tripod thingy for my phone and used the self-timer. Super professional, I know.
The Awkward Posing
This is where it got…interesting. Let me tell you, posing is HARD. I felt so silly trying to copy Kendall’s poses. I’m pretty sure my neighbors thought I was crazy.
I tried a few different angles, some by the pool, some just leaning against the wall. I quickly realized that good lighting is EVERYTHING. The sun was in and out of the clouds, so some shots were totally washed out, and others were okay.
I probably took like, a hundred pictures. Seriously. Most of them were terrible. My hair was a mess, my poses were awkward, and the lighting was all over the place.

The “Editing” (aka Filters)
After I was done with my super glamorous photoshoot, I went through all the pictures. I deleted most of them, to be honest. I picked a few that were somewhat decent and slapped some filters on them. Let’s be real, filters make everything better.
The Results
Did I look like Kendall Jenner? Nope. Not even close. But, did I have fun? Yeah, I actually did. It was a fun, silly little project, and it definitely gave me a new appreciation for models. They make it look so easy, but it’s not!
Would I do it again? Maybe, if I find a less embarrassing location next time. Or maybe I can recruit a friend to help me! Two people fail will be better than one.
