- Fancy livin’: Some folks talk about duplex apartments. Duplex? Sounds like double the trouble to me. More stairs to climb, more rooms to clean. But I guess if you got the money to burn, you can burn it on whatever you please. They talk about style and comfort, but comfort to me is a warm fire and a full belly.
I heard someone mention 302 West 11th Street. And 281 West 11th Street. And 56 West 11th Street. Honestly, they all sound the same to me. Numbers and streets, it’s all a jumble in my head. They’re just addresses, right? Places where people eat, sleep, and go about their business. Nothin’ special about that.
Then there’s this 309 W 11th St #18. Sounds like a mouthful, doesn’t it? Two beds, one bath. Well, that’s all you need, ain’t it? A place to sleep and a place to… well, you know. Back in the day, we didn’t have indoor plumbing, and we did just fine. Kids these days, they don’t know how good they have it.
They say there’s, what, 60 homes for sale in some place called Greenwich Village, matchin’ this West 11th Street. Sixty! That’s a whole lotta houses. Who needs that many houses? Seems like a waste to me. Land just sittin’ there, waitin’ for someone with deep pockets to come along.
And this 105 W 11th St? They say it offers a blend of style and comfort. Style? Comfort? What does that even mean? Back in my day, style was wearin’ clean clothes and comfort was a good pair of shoes that didn’t pinch your toes. These city folks and their fancy words.
So, what’s the bottom line about West 11th Street? It’s just a place, far as I can tell. A place where people live, work, and probably complain a whole lot about the price of everything. It ain’t no different from anywhere else, really. Just got a fancier name, that’s all. People are people, no matter where they hang their hats. And as long as they have a roof over their heads and food on the table, that’s all that matters, right?
