So, I’d been feeling like my perfume collection was a bit, well, stale. You know that feeling? Everything just smells… the same. Or maybe I just needed a change. I was wandering through a department store, not really looking for anything specific, just browsing, really.

How I Stumbled Upon It
Then I saw the Chloé section. I’ve tried some of their other stuff, some I liked, some not so much. But then this bottle, See By Chloé, it caught my eye. The bottle itself is kind of cute, a bit different from the main Chloé line. More playful, I thought. I remembered hearing some buzz about it a while back, but never got around to actually trying it. So, I figured, why not?
I sprayed a little on one of those paper strips first. My first thought? Apples! Definitely a strong apple note right at the beginning. Not like a super sweet, artificial apple, but more like a crisp, fresh apple. And something floral underneath, but the apple was really front and center for me.
Taking the Plunge – The Skin Test
Paper strips are one thing, but skin is a whole different story, isn’t it? So, I bravely sprayed a bit on my wrist. I walked around the store for a bit, letting it settle. That initial apple blast started to mellow down. I started to get more of the florals. I think it’s supposed to have jasmine in it, and yeah, I could smell something like that. And a bit of ylang-ylang, maybe? It’s not a heavy floral, though. More light and airy.
What I really wanted to know was:
- How long would it last?
- Would it turn into something weird on my skin after a few hours?
- Would I get sick of it by the end of the day?
So, I decided to get a small bottle. Didn’t want to commit to a huge one just yet. That’s my usual practice. Test it out properly before going all in.

Living With See By Chloé
For the next week or so, See By Chloé became my go-to. I wore it to work. I wore it on the weekend, just running errands. I even wore it for a casual dinner out with friends.
Here’s what I found:
The opening is definitely fruity and bright. That apple and bergamot really wake you up. It’s quite energetic, actually. Good for mornings when I’m feeling a bit slow.
After about an hour, the fruitiness calms down a lot. It becomes softer, more floral, but still with a hint of that apple. There’s a creamy sandalwood and vanilla vibe in the dry down, which I quite like. It makes it feel a bit more sophisticated than just a simple fruity floral. It’s not overly sweet, which is a big plus for me. Some fruity scents just scream “teenager,” but this one felt a bit more grown-up, while still being youthful and fun.
Longevity? It was okay. Not amazing, but not terrible either. I’d say I got a good 4-5 hours of noticeable scent. After that, it was mostly a skin scent, very subtle. I usually had to reapply if I was going out in the evening after wearing it all day. Sillage, or how much it projects, is moderate. People close to me could smell it, but it wasn’t like I was leaving a huge scent trail everywhere I went. Which, honestly, I prefer for everyday wear.

My Final Thoughts On This Round
So, what’s the verdict after my little experiment? I actually quite like See By Chloé. It’s a very cheerful, optimistic scent. It’s easy to wear. It’s not offensive or overpowering. It’s not the most unique or groundbreaking perfume I’ve ever smelled, that’s for sure. But sometimes, you don’t want groundbreaking. Sometimes, you just want something pleasant and uplifting.
I think it’s a good choice for spring and summer. It’s got that light, breezy quality. I probably wouldn’t reach for it for a super formal event, or if I wanted to make a big, bold statement. But for daily wear, for feeling put-together and smelling nice in a low-key way? Yeah, it works.
Will I repurchase? Maybe. I still have a bit left in my current bottle. I’m glad I tried it. It was a nice little addition to my “practice” of finding scents that fit different moods and occasions. It definitely broke that “stale” feeling I was having with my other perfumes. It’s a solid, likeable fragrance. Nothing to complain about, really. Just a pretty, happy smell.
