My Dive into Maria McManus
Okay, so I started looking into this brand, Maria McManus, the other day. Just kinda stumbled upon the name somewhere, maybe browsing online, looking for something different in clothing.

First thing I did was just a quick search, you know, see what it’s all about. Right away, I saw stuff about it being luxury womenswear. Okay, fine. But what caught my eye was all this talk about being responsible.
- They kept mentioning using less water.
- Cutting down on chemicals was another point.
- And trying to make less waste overall.
That seemed pretty interesting. You don’t always see the luxury side mixed with that kind of focus. Usually, it’s one or the other, right?
So, I dug a little deeper. Tried to find out who was behind it. Turns out, it’s founded by a woman named Maria, obviously. She’s originally from Dublin, Ireland. That’s kind of cool.
Then I read about her background. It wasn’t just Ireland. She apparently lived all over the place:
- Europe for a bit.
- Spent time in Japan.
- Lived in South East Asia too.
- Even Australia was on the list.
Finally, she ended up settling down in New York City. That’s quite a journey. Gives you a sense that maybe she pulled different ideas from all those places.

So yeah, that was my little exploration. Started with just a name, found out about the brand focusing on being responsible – less water, chemicals, waste – and learned a bit about the founder, Maria, and her background moving around before landing in NYC. Just putting it down here, my process of looking into it.
