Okay, so I got this idea to try and put together a 1970s-inspired outfit. I’ve always been kinda fascinated by that era’s fashion, all those bold colors and funky patterns. So, I decided to give it a shot.

Digging Through My Closet (and Grandma’s!)
First, I started by raiding my own closet. I didn’t have a ton of hope, to be honest. I mean, it’s mostly modern stuff. But, I did find a pair of wide-leg jeans that I thought might work. They weren’t exactly bell-bottoms, but they had a bit of a flare.
Then, I remembered my grandma’s old clothes. She keeps a bunch of stuff in the attic. So, I went up there, and it was like a treasure trove! I found this amazing floral shirt with these huge, pointy collars. It was perfect!
Putting It All Together
I tried on the jeans and the shirt, and it was already looking pretty 70s. But I felt like it needed something more. I remembered seeing pictures of people wearing these wide belts back then, so I looked around and found a brown leather one in my mom’s closet. Score!
- Wide-leg jeans (almost bell-bottoms!)
- Floral shirt with a HUGE collar
- Wide brown leather belt
The Finishing Touches
I added some platform-ish boots that I already owned. They weren’t exactly 70s, but they had the right chunky heel vibe. I also have this big, floppy hat. So I added this too.
For My hair, I did a side part, and add some big earings. It was an awesome result.

Honestly, it was way easier than I thought it would be! And it was super fun to put together. Now I’m thinking about what other vintage looks I can try…
